ยานี้เป็นสารต้านฮิสตามีน ใช้เพื่อช่วยบรรเทาอาการไข้ละอองฟาง (มีสาเหตุจากการแพ้สารพวกละอองเกสรดอกไม้ ฝุ่นละออง หรือสารอื่นในอากาศ) อาการแพ้ หรือโรคหวัด ได้แก่ จาม น้ำมูกไหล ตาแดง คัน ระคายเคือง และน้ำตาไหล
ใช้เพื่อบรรเทาอาการไอที่มีสาเหตุจากการระคายคอหรือทางเดินหายใจเล็กน้อย
ยานี้ใช้เพื่อป้องกันและรักษาอาการเมารถ เมาเรือ
โดยทั่วไปยานี้ควรใช้ในผู้ใหญ่และเด็กอายุ 2 ปีขึ้นไป ไม่ควรใช้ในเด็กอายุต่ำกว่า 2 ปี เพราะอาจมีอาการข้างเคียงที่รุนแรงได้
การใช้ยาในเด็กอายุ 2-6 ปี จะต้องอยู่ภายใต้การดูแลของแพทย์ และต้องใช้ยาอย่างระมัดระวังในเด็กอายุ 6-11 ปี
วิธีใช้ยา
โดยทั่วไปรับประทานวันละ 3-4 ครั้งหรือทุก 4-6 ชั่วโมง
สำหรับป้องกันการเมารถ เมาเรือ ให้รับประทานยาก่อนการเดินทางเป็นเวลา 30 นาที หรือ 1 ชั่วโมง
ยานี้จะทำให้ท่านมีอาการง่วงซึมได้ ควรหลีกเลี่ยงการขับรถหรือการทำงานเกี่ยวข้องกับเครื่องจักรหลังจากรับประทานยา
เครื่องดื่มที่มีแอลกอฮอล์เป็นส่วนผสมจะเพิ่มฤทธิ์ทำให้ง่วงซึมของยาได้ ควรหลีกเลี่ยงการรับประทานเครื่องดื่มที่มีแอลกอฮอล์ เป็นส่วนผสมควบคู่กับการรับประทานยา
อาการอันไม่พึงประสงค์จากการใช้ยา
1) อาการอันไม่พึงประสงค์ที่ต้องแจ้งแพทย์หรือเภสัชกรทันที
มีดังนี้ มองเห็นภาพไม่ชัด หรือ มีปัญหาในการใช้สายตา ปัสสาวะลำบาก มีอาการเจ็บขณะปัสสาวะ มีอาการกระสับกระส่าย ตื่นเต้น นอนไม่หลับ (พบได้บ่อยในเด็ก) เวียนศีรษะ หรือหน้ามืดคล้ายจะเป็นลม การเต้นของหัวใจผิดปกติ หัวใจเต้นเร็ว หรือเจ็บแน่นหน้าอก กล้ามเนื้อหรือใบหน้าเกิดการเกร็งกระตุก ลมชัก
2) อาการอันไม่พึงประสงค์อื่นที่อาจเกิดระหว่างใช้ยา หากเป็นต่อเนื่อง หรือ รบกวนชีวิตประจำวัน ให้ แจ้งแพทย์หรือเภสัชกรทราบ
มีดังนี้ ง่วงซึม ปาก จมูก และคอแห้ง ปวดศีรษะ เบื่ออาหาร ไม่สบายท้อง ท้องปั่นป่วน ท้องเดินหรือท้องผูก คลื่นไส้ อาเจียน
การเก็บรักษายา
เก็บยานี้ในภาชนะบรรจุเดิมที่บรรจุมา ปิดภาชนะให้สนิท และเก็บให้พ้นมือเด็ก
เก็บยานี้ที่อุณหภูมิห้องโดยไม่ให้อยู่ในที่ร้อนมากกว่า 30 องศาเซลเซียส เช่น บริเวณที่ถูกแสงแดดโดยตรง และไม่เก็บยาในบริเวณที่เปียกหรือชื้น
ทิ้งยานี้เมื่อยาหมดอายุ

After spraying, he said to pinch my nostril & blow so the Afrin gets into the Eustachian tubes.
Just don't take Afrin for more than a few days.
Nasal spray decongestants: Over-the-counter nasal sprays and drops such as phenylephrine (e.g. Adco-Nasdro®, ENT®, Napghensyl®, Vibrocil-S®),
Nasal spray decongestants: Over-the-counter nasal sprays and drops such as phenylephrine (e.g. Adco-Nasdro®, ENT®, Napghensyl®, Vibrocil-S®),
oxymetazoline (e.g. Drinasal®, Dristan®, Drixine®, Iliadin®)
and xylometazoline (e.g. Sinutab nasal spray®)
are all just some of the available brands. Children under 6 years should only use paediatric versions of these sprays and drops. Decongestant nasal sprays and drops should only be used for up to a maximum of 5 days otherwise they can cause rebound worsening of sinusitis symtoms.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women: Colds and flu do fairly frequently affect women while they are pregnant. It is safe to recommend a saline nasal spray. Other than home remedies like lemon and honey tea, the only cough syrup considered safe during pregnancy is Expigen®. Paracetamol is considered the safest analgesic to be used during pregnancy.
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Afrin solution.

Tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) because the effectiveness of Afrin solution may be decreased
Tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) because the effectiveness of Afrin solution may be decreased
Cocaine, furazolidone, MAO inhibitors (eg, phenelzine), or tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) because side effects, such as headache, fever, or high blood pressure, may be increased
Bromocriptine or cocaine because the actions and side effects of these medicines may be increased
How to use Afrin solution:
To use nose drops, gently blow your nose. Lie down and tilt your head back. Breathe through your mouth. Insert the dropper tip in the nose no more than 1/3 inch. Try not to touch the dropper tip to the inside of your nose. Place the correct number of drops in your nose. Continue to lie down with your head tilted back for 2 minutes.
To use a nose spray, gently blow your nose. Sit down and tilt your head back slightly. Place the tip of the spray container into the nose. Using a finger from your other hand, press against the opposite nostril to close it off. Breathe gently through the open nostril and squeeze the spray container. If you are using more than 1 spray, wait for 1 to 2 minutes between sprays. After using the medicine, rinse the tip of the spray unit in hot water and dry with a clean tissue to prevent contamination.
If you miss a dose of Afrin solution and are using it regularly, use it as soon as possible. If it is much more than 1 hour since your missed dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
Do not use Afrin solution for more than 3 days ,Afrin solution may cause nasal congestion to recur or worsen.
Do not share Afrin solution with anyone else; this may cause the infection to spread.
Diabetes patients - Afrin solution may affect your blood sugar level. Your doctor may need to change the amount of diabetes medicine you are taking.
Afrin solution is not recommended for use in CHILDREN younger than 6 years of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Afrin solution during pregnancy. It is unknown if Afrin solution is excreted in breast milk.
Possible side effects of Afrin solution:
Increase in nasal discharge; sneezing; stinging; temporary burning.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue)

About Sinutab Non-Drowsy and how it works
This medicine is available in the form of tablets that are taken by mouth.
This medicine contains paracetamol. If you are taking other medicines that contain paracetamol you must make sure that you do not take more than the recommended daily dose of paracetamol.
Always get advice from a healthcare professional before taking this medicine if:
you are allergic or sensitive to or have had a reaction to any of the ingredients in the medicine
this medicine is for a child under 12 years of age
you have heart and circulation problems
you have high blood pressure
you have liver problems
you have kidney problems
you have an overactive thyroid gland
you have diabetes
you have an enlarged prostate gland
you have raised pressure inside your eye
you are taking other medicines that contain paracetamol
Before using Sinutab Non-Drying:
if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
if you have a fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
if you have a history of adrenal gland problems (eg, tumor), heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart blood vessel problems, stroke, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, seizures, or an overactive thyroid
if you have chronic cough
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Sinutab Non-Drying.
Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
Beta-blockers (eg, propranolol), COMT inhibitors (eg, tolcapone), furazolidone, indomethacin, MAO inhibitors (eg, phenelzine), or tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) because they may increase the risk of Sinutab Non-Drying's side effects
Digoxin or droxidopa because the risk of irregular heartbeat or heart attack may be increased
Bromocriptine because the risk of its side effects may be increased by Sinutab Non-Drying
Guanethidine, guanadrel, mecamylamine, methyldopa, or reserpine because their effectiveness may be decreased by Sinutab Non-Drying
